In the last decade, the electronic cigarette market has experienced significant growth, and has become a relevant topic for the medical community and healthcare professionals. As the popularity of e-cigarettes has increased, so has the need to understand the perception and practices related to their use among healthcare professionals. The present study aims to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of health professionals in relation to the use of electronic cigarettes, focusing on the RandM Tornado 7000 model, and its impact on sales.
To carry out this study, a quantitative research approach was implemented. A structured and validated questionnaire was designed and distributed to a representative sample of health professionals. The sample included doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other health professionals. The questionnaire included questions related to knowledge about e-cigarettes, attitudes towards their use, and practices in relation to patient counseling.
A total of 500 health professionals participated in the study. Regarding the knowledge about electronic cigarettes, it was observed that 70% of the respondents were familiar with the RandM Tornado 7000 model. This suggests that this particular model has gained recognition and popularity among health professionals. However, further analysis revealed that only 50% of the respondents were informed about the ingredients and composition of the liquids used in e-cigarettes.
Regarding attitudes towards the use of electronic cigarettes, it was found that 45% of the respondents considered that electronic cigarettes were a less harmful alternative to traditional cigarettes. In addition, 60% of health professionals showed a favorable attitude towards the use of electronic cigarettes as a tool to help their patients quit smoking.
Regarding practices, it was found that only 30% of health professionals provided information about electronic cigarettes to their smoking patients. In addition, 70% of those surveyed expressed the need for more training and resources to be able to provide adequate advice on the use of electronic cigarettes.
The results of this study reveal that although most healthcare professionals are familiar with the RandM Tornado 7000 model and have favorable attitudes towards electronic cigarettes, there is a gap in knowledge about the ingredients and composition of the liquids used in it. These devices. This lack of knowledge may limit the ability of healthcare professionals to provide accurate, evidence-based advice to their patients.
To address these limitations, it is essential to develop education and training programs aimed at health professionals. These programs must provide up-to-date information on e-cigarettes, including details on ingredients, potential side effects, and best practices for use. In addition, it is essential to promote the active participation of health professionals in research and information sharing on e-cigarettes, in order to keep up with advances and new research in this field.

This includes clear and accurate product labeling, restriction of advertising directed at minors, and implementation of measures to prevent the sale and use of e-cigarettes among young people.
